Black Business Row
Strivers’ Row + LinkNYC
01/ The Challenge
While researching tentpoles to align with after being presented with an opportunity for free ad space, the Strivers’ Row team discovered for the first time that August is Black Business Month.
Since we found out about the shoot in late July, we had less than two weeks to scout + shoot 15 Black-owned businesses.
02/ The Story
This campaign took less than one week to shoot and took us to four of the five New York City boroughs.
Using only two portable Profoto B2 light strobes, I was able to capture images for over 20 Black owned businesses that were eventually used on over 300+ LinkNYC display screens across NYC.

Client Testimonial
When I sought out a photographer to partner with for my project, Jarrod was the first that came to mind. I knew that he would be as dedicated as I am and very professional. As a less creative person it can be difficult for me to articulate my ideas, but Jarrod is patient and asks questions to understand thoroughly. I trust his vision and artistry. - DESTINEE, Co-founder of Strivers’ Row
