100 YEAR ANNIVERSARY OF THE HARLEM RENAISSANCE

01/ The Challenge

The Creative Collective NYC (CCNYC) was looking to capture some new team images for their social and website.

The team didn’t want to do the typical bland headshot session, and instead opted into a theme of something more aligned with the brand; the celebration of the 100th year anniversary of The Harlem Renaissance.

02/ The Story

The shoot started with just an idea. After looking at the team as a whole, and reflecting on their previous year of accomplishments, it sparked an even greater sense of pride within them. Coincidentally, they discovered that that year also marked the 100 year anniversary of this historic time in African American history.

There was no way we could shoot this concept without actually taking to the actual streets of Harlem. The clothing was inspired from actual 70’s Harlem streetwear fashion that was put together on a group mood board.

03/ The Results

By properly conceptualizing this shoot from start to finish with everything from clothing and location in mind and with the help of post production skills and editing, we were able to capture a campaign that was clean and modernized but still had a throwback vintage feel to them.
